Is it normal for my family to do nothing?

I have a sister who is 22 and bulimic. She constantly is on a food binge. I find out later that she threw up. Sometime later, I found it in my sink. My question is...

is it normal for my parents to do nothing? Is it normal for me to do nothing?

Well, she IS an adult, right.

If she's leaving "clues" in your sink, maybe she wants you guys to help her.

She's too smart for that. She knows the psychological mindset of a sane person (literally) and will do anything to mirror it. But I'll try to help her. Thanks.

Women are stupid creatures? What is wrong with you? Both genders have stupid people, you included. To lump all women into the same category of stupidity is ignorance on your part.

But knowing morons like you, you won't listen or understand what I am saying anyway.

We've known about this for quite some time. And we have no idea what to do. I leave her alone. My parent's solution: scream at the top of their lungs.

Yes, but it's not normal for their family to post it on the internet >.> Seriously, of course you should try to help her, but you need to know how first. This site will not help you. I suggest looking somewhere else, somewhere medically/psychiatrically accredited... one that isn't IIN...

Maybe they don't notice. Maybe because she is an adult they figure it's her life. Maybe they just don't wanna believe it. Help her. I don't think it's normal to not help. If they know then they should help and so should u. This could kill her.

You're absolutely right, they don't wanna believe it.

That's why their "solution" is to scream at her until she gets it.

I would agree with what she said, but the truth is that my parents don't have the slightest idea on what to do. So they act on impulse instead of being rational.

        Fucking idiots (my folks).

Slap your parents upside their head! And take your sis to the doctor.

have u tried talking to your family about your concern? especially if you can get a sense of how serious it is. honestly, ive learned to vomit if, fot example I ate too much, or if I went overboard with the ice cream or whatnot. its only an occasional thing for me though and its never been an issue. however, as everyone knows it can really be serious and even end in death. so, especially if you can tell shes spinning out of control, then point it out to your family. if theyre in denial, perhaps any signs its serious might make them start to want to do something.

i used to be anorexic... I was allready living on my own (I moved out at a young age) but my family kept making comments about how i was looking to skinny, not to go out when its windy cuz I'll blow away and stuff like that even though i was never really very thin, then theyd ask me if id been eating properly and stuff and kept asking my boyfriend to basically track how much food i was eating, it was a very personal struggle and something i wasnt proud of so there comments and aknowledgemnt and worry was very awkward and embarassing but helped me realise how bad i had gotten. oh also tell her she is pretty and a great sister and that you love her very much, just the way she is. she is struggling with her self esteem and would love to hear that. good luck! i really hope this helps

At least try to get her some help. She is your sister whether she's grown up or not.

well this doesn't sound like a serious problem as it is a hygienic thing. Women with all respect are stupid creatures sure she looks good from across the room but would have the smell of puke wrapped around her making it difficult to want anything with her.

I think she is 22 and doesn't need your advice because knowing women she won't take it so start looking food up like she is a child and tell her to use the toilet.
