Is it normal for my ex-boyfriend to be mad at me??

So I went out with this guy for about 3 months. I used to be super religious and so was he! We got along really well. We both ended up going back to our home towns. He lived in Texas and I lived in Arizona and we had no way to see each other. We ended up splitting up. Then he was mad but after a while it was alright. I ended up getting married and I told him. Now he's mad and he's trying to throw the God card at me. He said some really nasty thongs that aren't true about my husband and now I'm hurt. I doing know why he's so mad and I need to know if this is normal!!! :/
