Is it normal for my ears to make a slight noise everytime i swallow?

Everytime i swallow i can hear a small popping or crackling noise in my ears. Sometimes in both ears and sometimes in one ear. I know it may have to do with my Eustathian tubes opening and closing but i want to know if people are aware of this little noise.

Is it when you chew too? This may be the beginning of TMJ (temporomandibular joint) which can cause the popping or crackling sound. I had it too and as it turned out I needed braces to align my bite. About 8 years earlier I had my wisdom teeth removed and my bite shifted. I got braces, went through the 12 months of hardware and I don't have TMJ any more. This might be what you have. See your dentist/orthodontist and ask them what they think. This could get serious & painful after a while if not treated you can deteriorate the bone in the jaw or other disorders. Good luck.
