Is it normal for my dad to sigh 20-30 times a day?

My dad sighs about 30-40 times a day (kind of sounds like a cow). One time I accidentally was caught imitating the sighing noise and he flipped out at me. He has anger problems (slams doors, swears like a sailor stomps around). One time I heard him yell out "IT'S ALWAYS ME!" (which is laughable.. he grew up middle class in a two parent family with a great mother). So could this really be a "breathing problem" like he says? He seems to do the sigh when something bad happens.

He sounds like he could be depressed. Try to be a little more understanding. Does he have any creative interests?

Mine nags 20-30 times a day. He's probably looking for attention or acknowledgement or he's restless.

Sighing can be a side effect of medication. We sigh as an attempt to increase oxygen to our body. Yes it can be due to a breathing problem. Even ventilators have a setting for sighing.
