Is it normal for my brother to warn me off a relationship

I have a crush on my brothers best friend, and my brother knows I do. Whenever I'm on msn or facebook, he'll often tease me about it, but whenever his best friend comes round just to chill with my brother and me and my friends and he starts talking to me my brother always changes subject, his best friend once hugged me, and went to kiss me- it'd be my first proper kiss... But again my brother interrupted and asked him if he wanted a kick about, so of course he went off for a kick about and later that night when everyone was gone my brother said about his best friend going 'all the way' with a girl, it's like he is trying to put me off or something, I know my boundaries and I have a good head on my shoulders, but I just think it's about time I was able to find things out and grow up for myself because everyones going to have to later on in life.
Is this normal, any advice will be appreciated:)

    He's just being protective. Keep what he said in mind, but maybe tell him to back off a bit so you can see for yourself

    I'm with joybird. He's trying to protect you. Be thankful you have a brother who cares enough about you to actually try to keep away the guys who he believes are not up to his sisters level. He only wants the best for his sister, but not his best friend who he probabaly knows all too well.

    I have to agree with joybird. He knows something you don't. If i was you i'd respect his opinion and find your own friends. Not to mention, there isn't a guy in the world that wants to hear, 'dude, your sister was awesome in the sack last night!' your bro---> D:> friendships could be lost here.

    he's only being a big brother and doesnt want you getting hurt. once you have sex, you will emotionally get attached to your brothers best friend. and once his friend dumps you, you'll only feel like shit every time your brother invites him over to the house. AND it might cause a rift between your brother and his friend (since his friend hurt his lil sister). sooo...dont be so selfish.

    kidding me big brothers just proct thier sister one of my friends slaped someone 3 times for talking to his sister about that stuff trust me id beat someone up if he did any harm to my lil sis

    He knows his friend better than you do and his secrets. I think your brother is just trying to protect you from being hurt, and prevent an awkward situation among you all as friends.
