Is it normal for my brother to talk bad about me so much?

So my brother has a friend who moved in with us recently. He didn't used to speak so rude to me all the time though, but now will say cruel jokes about me all the time in front of his friend, who also joins in, but when I say a mean joke back, they get all pissed off even when its less offensive than what they said. They snicker and seem to talk bad about me a lot. I don't even know why. I mean, were all teens but damn, sometimes it just goes too far!

*What got me wondering was the fact that my brother started mocking me again, out of nowhere today, and I did the same thing back, but then his friend looked at me and said to him, "Wow, you were right about what you said last night..."

So is this whole, "girl vs. two guys" thing normal or what?

(Sorry this is long, but it's the only way I can explain it)

your brother will appreciate you more when you grow up.

he seems like a douche, and his friend seems like a bigger douche than your brother..

he was given a place to say, and you are obviously affected by that in that another person is there living with u under the same roof, and coming to your house, and making all these rude comments.

He should fuck off. Talk to your brother by himself. Tell him your problem. Your brother seems like a douche, so don't show any tears because douches laugh when they see tears.

Just be strong, but don't be rude, don't give him a reason to be defensive.

Aw... this post made me sad :(

Sometimes when we're younger we do really stupid things because we want to seem "cool". No doubt your brother is trying to show off in front of his friend. Try not to take it too much to heart. Guys sometimes act dumb. The advice above is good, too :) Try talking with him if you feel up to it.

I hope he does realize what he's doing. I would occasionally argue with or make fun of my sister (and she would, back) and I last lived with her when I was 13 years old, now we're in our 20's and I barely got to see her since that time we lived together. It might sound dumb, but cherish the time you have with your sibling! It's so wonderful you care :)

  • It warms my heart that you care about your relationship with your brother.

He's just being a dork. Don't take it personally and know that he will eventually come around. Maybe if the two of you are having a good moment together, without the friend around, you could tell him that you miss the times you had before the friend was there. He might still laugh at you or make fun of you, but deep down he'll know how you really feel and regret it.

Just think that they're preparing you for all the jack@sses you're going to meet out in the real world.

You'll be well practised and have an answer on the tip of your tongue :o)

I had two brothers and prefer male company now - at least you know where you stand as they're not two faced bitches.

Peer pressure, and being a young boy will do this. I am sorry you don't have a close relationship but now that he has shown his friend that's how he acts toward you it will take a while to change. Normally it's the friend who would set him straight but he seems to be going along with it.

How old is he and his friend? Both sound very immature.
