Is it normal for my boyfriend to sleep in another bed?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 2.5 years now. We are in a good relationship but there is one thing that bothers me: every time I spend the night at his place we have sex and then after a little while he leaves the room and goes and sleeps on the couch. I have tried telling him that I don't like that he won't sleep with me but he just kind of laughs it off. Is this weird? Or am I over reacting? When I ask him why he won't sleep the whole night in the same bed he says he can't sleep but he has never mentioned me snoring, or tossing and turning too much... Is it normal that he would rather spend the rest of the night sleeping on the couch than with me?

It's normal. Trust me. Some people sleep easier alone.

I think it's fucked up, how can he sleep better on the couch? I'd hate that.

DO NOT JOIN HIM ON THE COUCH UNLESS YOU WANT TO PISS HIM OFF.

I know others with the same problem.

I'm sure it hurts your feelings, but it's most likely not personal.

As long as you tell him how you feel you'll probably feel at least a little better about it.

some people just can't sleep with someone else in their bed. i'm the same way. but sometimes i'm too tired to care. but if i'm just going to bed i don't like sleeping in the same bed as someone else. it gets too hot.

What is the size of the bed?

    It depends.

Don't nag him about it but ... ask him nicely.

Just because he doesn't want to sleep with you for long doesn't always mean it's something dramatic.

It could be something simple like... too much snoring or too much moving around in bed.

Or maybe he just doesn't like touching ANYONE else when he's trying to sleep.

You know that could also be an issue - what size bed do you have? If you have a twin or a full size, it might not be enough room, especially if either one of you moves.

It's a little weird that you have been with him that long and he won't sleep with you in the same bed. I say sit him down and talk to him about it.

It's never comfortable to sleep with someone if you haven't been used to do so. Before my first long term relationship i could never sleep with a woman in my bed. Then while in the long term relationship got used to do, but on the first 3 months i remember sleeping really shitty.

I do think you're over reacting a bit. Keep trying to talk about it, if things don't change, go join him in the couch.
