Is it normal for my boyfriend to constantly hang out with his ex?

My boyfriend's ex is a very close friend to my boyfriend and I'm okay with them just being friends. Sometimes though I'm not comfortable with the amount of time they spend together, how much they text, and how he even canceled our date to the movies to go with her instead. This is my first relationship and I'm not sure if I'm just being insecure or if it's something I should actually be concerned with.

    He doesn't respect you. Tell him to kick rocks, hit the skids, get lost. You can find someone to show you more respect.

    Geez, everyone is so quick to throw someone away.

    Try subtly bringing up this feeling you’re having to him and talk to him about it. If he doesn’t want to talk about the issue or if he responds vaguely to any questions you ask, then I would advise considering dumping him.

    As Nickvey says (a user I am hopefully summoning now), there is no such thing as "just friends". This is only in your mind. The sexual desire always exist, no matter what. It's just that sometimes other factors replace it and outweight this so that they people decide not to do it. But it still exists. His behaviour is not normal, he is crossing the line, so you are not close enough to have a stronger bond than they already have. Knowing only the info you provided, I agree with the rest and say: break up. More info could, however, potentially change the result.
