Is it normal for my bf to not initiate sex despite me being pregnant?

The initiation was always more so mutual beforehand whereas now it is all determined on my initiation as long as it doesn't interfere with him going to work. I don't feel like I am doing any thing wrong whatsoever. He says it has nothing to do with me doing anything wrong or because I am expecting. So regarding this behavior, IIN?

It is normal, but in my opinion also hurtful. It's common for guys to do that but you certainly may want to consider a sit down, as sex problems can lead to many other possible problems that you just don't need. Bite it in the butt. Make yourself clear (but not pushy), allow him time to explain, etc. He could just as simply have fears of being a good dad and provider distracting him. Or he could be swamped at work. Men have sex emotionally, too. They just don't know it cuz they shove that away.

I think you meant "nip it in the bud", not "bite it in the butt".

There is nothing sexy about pregnant women at all, even if its your own child the women is carrying. And I have had people crap on my chest and vomit in my mouth during sex.

I wouldn't mind having sex with a pregnant woman depending on the woman she can be more easily stimulated for hotter sex ;)

        • XD That is true and mentioned in the article as well. I believe a lot of men would have sex if their partner was pregnant.

I mean, even if they are worried, no need to go at it like you're on speed, steroids and a rocket attached lol XD

Yeah but some men out there are either worried they are gonna hurt the baby or completely turned off but fail to realize her hormones could go wild for plenty of sex.

When my wife was pregnant I didn't want to have sex as I thought that we might hurt the baby. However, as my wife is sexy as hell, and she was horny as hell, we took things slowly until got over our fear of hurting our baby. Pregnant women are sexy as hell and are just as horny as they were before they got pregnant.

I Would feel like the baby would get hurt, feel it would be irresponsible. Plus it's you'd have to think all sorts of thoughts just to get turned on. Look, there are two MAJOR turnoffs here:
    a) the sight of a pregnant woman (unless you have that fetish).
    b) your penis is jabbing only inches away form a baby.

You can't hurt a baby during sex unless your penis is the size of a giant needle.

after looking at MissSorel's link http://www.babycenter.com/sex-during-pregnancy-overview , *usually* it will cause no harm but it does suggest talking to your doc.

On the Other side, Pregnant women just became a whole lot sexier after reading that whole nipple thing... that's hot!
The OP has definitely got to drop that tip on her husband next time they are in bed!

You can't harm a baby during sex while the woman is pregnant believe me.

it may be that he's afraid of hurting the baby
or he's afraid of triggering any hormonal reactions from you

I never said it was a rational fear...

Although that also depends on just how rough your sex is. if he's jumping on your belly for example that might not be something you wanna do in bed for a while.

but regular thrusting should be ok.

although missionary position may be uncomfortable for her at later stages of pregnancy - having someone lying down on top of your baby putting pressure on you. which is why it's often suggested that the couple try other positions such as "doggy" style etc
