Is it normal for me to have vaginal discharge?

I don't exactly remember when this started. I'm guessing around 2 years ago, when I started mensturating. I started getting very itchy around my ovulation time. I didn't know it was ovulation until I got clear thick discharge. Every once and a while I would get white (cottage cheese like) discharge. The older I get, the worse it becomes. I had sex last week (for the third time) and the next night I was incredibly itchy. I felt like crying it was so itchy. Then I started to bleed a little bit. Not my period.. And now I get white discharge more often and the itchies a lot. I'm just so confused. Is this normal? And if so, what is this?
