Is it normal for me to have fallen in love with one of my residents?

I am falling in love with one of my residents. He is 18 and I am 19 but I am his Resident Assistant and this is not acceptable... what can I do to prevent this from getting any worse? He doesn't know this... I have not told him this. The only thing that he has done is that flirts with me and well... I cannot deny that I think is the most kind and cute guy I have ever met and I mean... if it weren't for the fact that he is my resident this wouldn't be a problem because I could tell him how I felt and we could date but... what should I do? Am I normal?

    Date him, who cares. No one's going to die, what's the worse that could happen?

    What does it matter that you are his RA? I don't see one problem wiht it.

    It is an issue, it's unethical, you can't get business mixed with pleasure. If it against the rules of apartment rental (Which I am about 99.9%% sure it is) you shouldn't get involved with him, lose your position, for what seems like love, but it's really lust. Also, when you are physically attracted to someone, you kind of in a way make up that they are sweet, compassionate, and thoughtful... it's called romanticizing. It is common, but don't let it get you in the stranglehold.... Been there, done that, lucky to be in one piece. ;)

    I don't think it's a big deal. Date him, if the douche` higher ups have any issues with it, tell them that you're getting to know your residents better. hehe. You could always transfer to another dorm and then I don't it would be an issue.

    Well, at 19, you're probably going to fall in love with many more people before you're done.

    And there's no such thing as not acceptable where falling in love is concerned.
