Is it normal for me to feel this way?

My boyfriend of 3 years has two cats that are very hard to live with. They scratch him, myself, my son and on several occasions have attacked my dog who is a third of their size and always tries to run away from them. They have destroyed all of my boyfriends furniture and several of his electronic devices. We can never have a Christmas tree or any other plants or pretty vases. He says declawing them is cruel even though the vet he uses disagrees. He keeps saying they are just kittens and will grow out of it. But I don't see this happening anytime soon. He wants to move in together but I think this would cause alot of problems in our relationship. It wouldn't be fair to ask him to give them up. I am hoping someone else that has experienced this may have some suggestions. I love my boyfriend but as it stands right now I can't see living with him with his two fur babies running amuck.

Don't move into this situation and be clear with him why. As I said above, I don't see how they can be kittens unless your dog is extremely tiny so no. they won't grow out of it.

Doesn't he realise it's possible to train cats to behave reasonably? Water pistols and the word "NO" spring to mind

I mentioned getting the claw covers as a start and he was very hesitant. I think he just expects me to put up with it. When one of them scratched me recently he just kept saying he will grow out of it.

Some people just like having undisciplined and out of control animals: at least they're not pitbulls but I wouldn't live with them

Wow, I don't know why you're complaining about the kitty cat wuss, you're going to dump him anyway. He sounds like a little girl.

Put an ad out for 2 free kittens. If he refuses to part with them. Then next solution is put them outside and only bring them in to the garage or washroom if bad weather(snowing or under 30 degrees F). Final solution is not to move in until one of these are done. Just talk to him.

Well are they kittens? If so some of that should get better.

It's a bit hard to imagine kittens bigger than even the smallest dog, unless they're tiger or lion or leopard kittens

One is a year old and the other is 4. So would they still be considered kittens?

They can still be really playful and rambunctious at under 2. After that they aren't as much of the time.

Lol! Thanks for the spot of humor. I'm trying to be patient and stay positive but am sure that I will not be living with him under these circumstances. I am fortunate in that I have my own home and career and can afford to stay in my own place if need be.
