Is it normal for me to dread going home to my companion?

I dread going home to my companion. I wish I could just live at work. He treats me like royalty, but I'm beginning to think it's just emotional blackmail to keep me in his life. We have a lot in common, but I am not in love w/him. I feel like it will kill him if I break this relationship off.

This is quite a sad situation but you can't be responsible for his happiness / life. If you need to leave then you must do so - for your own sanity. Maybe you could rent somewhere and move items out slowly. Then if he's away with work or on a trip, you could move out. It's horrible to hurt someone but you and he both need to meet other people and get on with your lives seperately.

I think you should ask yourself, what's the sole reason you want to end it with him. Must be something serious if your secretly wishing you lived at work, and then just try and explain this to him best you can and work things from there. If you still see no light at the end of the tunnel, then you should do what's best for you, and if that means breaking up with him then youl have to do so, gently ofcourse, but don't let him being heartbroken stop you from doijg it as I'm sure he dosent want to be in a relationship where there's no mutual love, care and respect

Thanks, I know. I am not IN love with him; he has been informed, yet he refuses to aacept it. I was striving for some normalcy. Why? I dont know. No one should settle for normal, nor strive for it.

Being in love never lasts forever.
The question is, do you love him?
(Being in love and loving are two different things.)
