Is it normal for me to constantly want attention?

So, I have a boyfriend. I love him very much, but I constantly want attention. We talked about this, he says, "Your attention meter is like a massive black hole". I get annoyed when he doesn't reply, or forgets to say I love you back. I only see him every one or two weeks. When I do see him, he spends a few hours on a video game then spends some time with me. I try to spend time with him by trying to get some video games and such. I only want attention from him though, not as in, "I want everyone to give me attention". I want to always give him some space, but I expect him to at least tell me when he wants it and not just flat out ignoring me. Sometimes he'd give me plenty of attention, but other times he'll reply every hour or so.

    This is interesting. I mean only seeing every one or two weeks and he is your boyfriend, I don't think its unreasonable for you to expect more. The black hole comment I think was rude of him to say. Constant attention is obviously too much, but it sounds like you are no where near that right now in what you are getting.
    I would tell him these things so he can seriously know that you want something different than what you are getting, and that it's important to you.
    But ultimately, you kind of get what you get with people, and really want a boy who wants to pay attention to you, and isn't doing it because you're telling him to.

      But with texting, some people just don't like to text. I think that that distinction is important, and it might be more constructive to break up the conversation into spending time together, and then texting as something separate.
