Is it normal for me to commit adultery?

My son found out that he isn't able to conceive children. He asked me if I would impregnate his wife. Neither he nor I can go through an expensive insemination. He said he and his wife want me to have intercourse with his wife. I feel like I should tell my wife--even get her permission. And I wonder if the Catholic Church would considerate this adultery. Should I tell a priest?

  • Go ahead and tell the priest. Should be the highlight of his day.

I've done this for a lesbian couple when I was 17. They were in their thirty's and it took about 5 tries. Its kind of strange but not too bad. It up to you though.

This seems like a complicated topic. First: I am an adult but I have no children.

If I put myself in the place of the son then I want a child that is at least related to me, and asking my father for help seems like a huge favor to ask but the reality is that there isn't really another way. On the other hand, if I put myself in the place of the father then I would be endeared my son would ask me for such a thing. This is a very personal favor, and though my wife would have the right to know about it, I don't know that I would think she has the right to refuse it.

To me this is pretty similar to having an aging parent without the means to take care of them self anymore. There is no question I would have to do something about it. Ignoring it or telling them to go elsewhere is not a valid answer.

    Just my 2c

Is there really no one else that can help them out ?! Or go the way dappled explained for goodness sake.

You don't need to seek help for standard insemination. A plastic cup and a turkey baster will do. No one needs to see anyone naked.

It's not quite the way nature intended but it'll work.
