Is it normal for me to be worried?

We both go to different colleges 20 minutes away from each other. This is our first semester at these new schools. We're 21 years old. He's met a new female friend. I know he has been going to the college cafe with her sometimes. I asked him about it and he lied. I don't want to keep bringing up the subject (So I don't) but it's really bothering me. He doesn't usually lie. Is it normal for me to be worried?

    is he hanging out with JUST her? I would be worried...I mean, what if he starts to like her? He obviously is spending a lot of time with her....guys will post back and complain that I am agreeing with you, but I would still keep your eye open.
