Is it normal for marijuana to correct anxiety in this way?
Ok, so I've always thought it was somewhat of a contradiction for me, personally, to say marijuana helps me with anxiety because of the paranoia it causes at the peak of highness (for me only in an uncomfortable situation such as driving or not being at home... Or when some crazy thought encompasses my mind). I know this affects people differently.
Now, I've been smoking for many years now and I've noticed weed doesn't instantly settle my anxiety like it does for some, but it does seem to do so in stages. For example, i've had a fear of eating lately which began while i wasn't smoking much and occurs as much during sobriety as when i'm stoned. Last week, i smoked out, hoping to increase my appetite to make food irresistible for me to eat, but i could barely eat while high because of the paranoia aspect with dry mouth. However, going through such increased fear of trying to eat while high seems to give me an increased sense of ease when it comes to eating sober. I guess what i'm saying is that it speeds up the "facing your fears"process for me.
It has been this way with other issues I've had in the past too. Social anxiety -i smoke and become difficult when it comes to talking to people but i realize it's not so bad when i'm not high. It was the same wheni became afraid of driving for a period of time.
Is it normal for weed to solve anxiety this way, or does it just work instantly for you?
If you don't smoke (or eat or vaporize thc) please don't vote :)
