Now I don't want this to sound mean but Ive been noticing this alot lately. I'm a guy and some of my close friends are girls and they are/were very pretty. Over the past year or two to my suprise they have put on a ton of weight. Don't get me wrong I'm not gonna quit being friends with them just because they don't look like they used to but I just wanna know if it's normal for women to just let themselves go?

      guys get better with age. More $$$, more in control of his life, more aware of what women actually want, etc etc

      even if guys get fatter, it doesn't matter because women dont care that much about our body.

          attraction isnt a choice. you would fall in love with an overweight man if he was confident and knew how to trigger female attraction switches.

              its not a choice for men, and the same is true for women. different triggers cause the attraction for men and women, we all know this.

        well thats a dumb thing to say. As we get old we develop these things depends on the success of the person not the gender babycakes

        and ur wrong girls do care about a guys body. im very picky with my guys they must be muscular and fit to be attractive enough to like them. the sex has got to be hot and i have to see his naked toned body. and yes size does matterXD

        to the OP yes its normal to yoyo with weight who knows they can lose all the fat again and then gain it throughout their lives but majority of men and women will gain fat as they get older its normal

          2) if I put a guy in front of you who was confident, overweight, amazing at teasing you, in control of his life, fun, cocky but funny, with 2 hot chicks by either side of him who appear to be flirting with him youde have no choice but to fall for him.

            2) Been there done that. There is a guy at my work who fits just that. and no doubt he might be PERSONALITY attractive, well duh, all persons who fit that charismatic charming personality will be socially attractive, however that does not mean that i will romantically and passionately fall in love with him to sexually satisfy me, as ive said biologically people will generally want to mate with a physically attractive, strong, healthy male

            It's true. A friend of mine is morbidly obese, huge beer belly, but has incredible level of confidence. He has no trouble attracting plenty of much slimmer women. He's never without a woman.

    Yeah that is common for most attractive women and men. It can also be the other way around. You are ugly in your later years then become attractive. Its called 'Ugly duck syndrome'.

    I've been noticing the same thing. I'm 31 now and I'm seeing a lot o the formerly popular, stuck up, pretty girls from high school are now fat and ugly. It makes me smile. I was chubby, shy, and plain looking in high school now I'm slim and pretty, and confident. I think it has to do withkarma

    It is common, but not normal. It shows they do not care anymore, and that is sad. I am ok looking, stand about 5'5, and weigh 115. I hope to never weigh over 125, even when I am 40. It is unfair to people around you, especially my potential future husband!

    It could be they get depressed or something. I am not a hot girl at all. I am a very ugly woman. So most of the time I work out and keep myself fit. I want to make up for how ugly my face is, because it's hideous. However if I get into a depression I stop caring about myself and let myself go. When I snap back out of it I work out and keep thin again. So these girls might just be going through a rough patch. Anyway, if their faces are pretty chances are they aren't getting ugly from being overweight. They're likely still beautiful, they just have a little extra meat. Being fat doesn't make a person ugly.

    Damn i thought you meant their looks got less attractive,which is true quite often.but if the same girl looks the same but just gains weight that shouldnt make what you thought was a pretty girl seem ugly.a little less sexually appealing maybe so though.very common and normal for them to gain weight.
