Is it normal for her to change her mind a few times?

So a little while back my best friend of almost 2 years fell for me. I was too slow to realize it and by the time I realized I loved her she didn't have the same feelings I did anymore. She is aware of how I feel for her, and she says there's nothing awkward between us or anything, and that I'm still her best friend.

Recently however we were talking and she was telling me that guys have been constantly hurting her lately. I was supporting her because I want her to be happy and I told her one day she'd find the guy of her dreams. She then responded by telling me it should have been me and that some day she kind of hopes it will be. The next morning she asked me what I thought of the 2 of us dating and I said it wouldn't be a bad idea. She agreed but said the timing was all wrong because she's going through very stressful times and is leaving for 3 months at the end of May. So we agreed to let time take its course and see what happens.

I'm just wondering is it normal for a girl to keep changing her mind like this? I love her so much she means the world to me, but I don't want to keep any hopes up she'll one day fall for me again.

    I think it is normal. I hate to say it, but for my most recent ex, I have constantly changed my mind about him for months. In love and romance, logic and emotions just don't mix. There can be alot of factors that make it very difficult to know what you feel. So I think how she's behaving is normal...but at the same time, don't allow yourself to be dragged on.
