Is it normal for her to be this..

So I like this guy I recently met at a party. I was with one of my friends atm (Not like a close friend but just someone you hang out with..If you get that) She says he likes me. I don't really think much of it considering I don't really know him so I went on with my life. I seen him around more and more and couldn't help but notice how he was acting around me. Starring, talking extra loud, trying to get me jealous. I found it odd but again I moved on.. The girl I was with is now suddenly being super clingy to me, giving me compliments, always talking to me. She was suddenly obsessed with the guy. Which is cool for her.. She doesn't stop talking about him and just saying very awkward sexual things about him. The guy clearly does not like her. But she can't take a hint. I found out more about this boy and I realize how much I would love to at least be his friend not even cause of his looks. I talked to her about him and it seems her emotions run truly off of his looks. I honestly feel bad for him must be annoying. I've talked to him a few times and he's really awesome in my opinion. But if we went out she would kill me socially. And don't take that lightly with her. Is it normal for her to be doing that? She gets pretty into it with the stuff she does.. Or is it just me? High school drama. SMH
