Is it normal for hair to fall out?

okay so this is probably going to sound weird but when ever i rinse my hair after i have washed it lots of hair falls out and my hair makes an odd squeaky noise to when i run my fingers through it
this has been happening for awhile now and i'm starting to get fairly worried that im going to become bald.. ever though i dont have any bald patches or anything, i just dont think its very normal what is happening to me, i have tried different shampoos to see if that would work but they havent helped, and i have also tried those shampoo that are meant ot make your hair stronger but even those don't work.
can anyone give me any advice??

I know this is some time later than when you originally posted but my wife had this problem and went to a "naturalist" doctor. He put her on natural thyroid medication and she has since completely stopped losing her hair. She is also very sexual now........

A lot of the shampoos for hair loss only make the hair appear thicker, only a few contain ingredients to reduce hair fall.

The squeeking when you run your fingers though it is from the shampoo stripping too much of the oils from your hair, you want it clean but not squeeky clean, try using less or try a milder, sulfate free shampoo.

There are a lot of causes of hair loss, hormones, medications, stress, I would get it checked out.

  • Maybe you're just using shampoo but not conditioner after you shampoo? I done the same for a while with my medium/long hair. I used shampoo, and hairs fell out, then I used conditioner after shampoo, and it was fine.

You might want to get your thyroid checked. I dk if it's that bad though. It could just be natural but when I had hypothyroidism and didn't know, I could run my hand through my hair and literally a clump would come out. It was ridiculous. Anyways, just something to look at.

Humans lose around 80 hairs everyday so if you lose a lot when you wash your hair its probadly just loose hair that has not fallen of yet.

Hair strands fall out, but if huge clumps are falling out then you should probably see a doctor.

Unless it's an insignificant amount, I would see a dermatologist. If you are balding and you catch it early, they have special shampoo's they can prescribe to stop it.
If your hair comes out in decent amounts at a time, it doesn't hurt you, and there are little white tips at the bottom, you could be balding.
Until you can see someone, I would recommend you use a soft bristled brush, also don't wash your hair every day.
You could be paranoid, but that should be left for a doctor to decide.

Hair falling out is normal for people, unless you`re like 16. Just try not to stress over it, cause then it`ll get worse. And bow-dry your hair when you get out of the shower, cause keeping it damp and wet will damage your hair

I disagree. When I was 15 I started loosing lots of hair, really lots, for about a year and a half. The doctor gave me some kind of pills but it didn't work, and eventually I just ended with less hair, it stopped falling. I guess like other things in teenage, the amount of/color of hair can undergo slow or fast changes. You really should be worried if you're at an age when becoming bold is likely ie over 40.

Also, I hear that letting your hair dry naturally from time to time as opposed to heating it (especially everyday) would make it healthier. You can also try to cut, if you have long hair the weight and knots can be a fall factor.
