Is it normal for girls not to shave their private areas?

Well, if my opinion has any weight in this discussion, being a guy I find it unfair that we demand women have it all shaved with a katana, while most of us don't bother even trimming.

(hair does promote bad odor on both genders) I'd say trimm it really short and if you feel comfortable, try once in a while to shave the bikini line so that you get used to it.

Let it grow, let it grow, let it grow. Evolution rarely gets this stuff wrong. Warmth? Comfort? Visual appeal? Why are we (Americans) so obsessed with the hair anyway? Let it grow I say. I love it and find it beautiful. I'm into women that don't shave though. Natural is the way to go.

It only started itching because you didn't continue removing the hairs. I think it's normal not to shave but yet again who doesn't shave. It all depends what you feel comfortable doing.

P.S. Have you heard about passion parties ?? Well it's like Avon but it's sells vibrators and sex toys. Well in there lotions and creams cataloge, they have this shaving cream called coochy cream and it works the best for the sensitive area. I highly recommend you using it if you want to continue removing those hairs.

Id say trim it if you are willing to think about your partner. Unless he has said that he is fine with it. Guys have to shave as well no one likes a hairy penis or balls lol.

of course it'S ok to leave it there. you'Re supposed to have hair there. i started dating this girl once who shaved, which is totally her bussiness, but it's like, "haven't you been throu puberty?" it'S so much sexier with hair. a trim isn't bad though. but completely bald??? damn.

hair down there is very sexy, and to me it shows that a woman is confident with her body and doesn't have to follow this new trend of shaving everything. a little trim is ok, but don't think you have to take it all off.

I trim my hair. I don't mind the stuff on the pubic mound (and if you don't have any, you look like a little kid IMO), but I hate the stuff that grows on the lips or around your butt. But I wouldn't ever try to shave it because I can't see it clearly, and cutting myself down there would hurt like fuck. I have slipped and cut myself with scissors once or twice, and freaked out when I saw the blood.

I've only had one boyfriend, and he didn't mind at all if I trimmed, shaved, or did nothing. But he was a total slob, so I don't know if his opinion was typical or not.

I would definitely shave the bikini area and at the least trim the rest to almost non existence. Some men won't care either way but the majority are into good hygiene and having long hair there is foul. It's an odor absorber.

At least a trim is good. No guy wants to feel like they're making out with Osama when they go down on you

Its up to you, I keep mine short coz my g/f likes it like that (i'm male), i dont really mind. My g/f used to shave and wax it all but i like a little landing strip so thats how she has it now. Its a personnal thing. I have 3 sisters one just does her bikini line but leaves the rest, one just trims it and the other takes it all off.

How about you do what makes you comfortable? Play with it.. Visit a sex store and look at the trimmers.. You can do designs, take it all off or let it grow crazy.. I personally don't care for hair.. Even on men... They have to at least trim. If I want to floss ill do that when I brush my teeth

I feel like shaving robs me of a part of my womanhood: I don't like to look in a mirror and feel like a 12 year old.

ive tried trimming it once and it itches a lot. i want it gone but im afraid to shave it. i'd say just leave it.

removing all the hair or leaving a small strip is great. I'm a guy and have only a small strip.

Well I shave but I'd be careful about being in like a bathing suit around people cause there's this girl that goes to Texas state with me and everyone knows she doesn't shave because of her bikini and everyone makes fun of her behind her back she has no idea soo I suggest maybe trimming If you want to completely shave you totally don't have to it's your body

I think it depends on your age as to whether you shave, or stay au naturale. As for prople my age, I think we most don't shave. But, some of us at least trim. After all, you don't want it to look like an overgrown lot when there's traffic.

well its up to you whether you want to shave or trim or whatever because it is your body but i agree with lol_bamf. my husband doesnt mind a little bit of hair down there but i like to keep it shaved / trimmed and neat because i feel sexier and he doesnt get a mouthfull of hair when he goes down on me. shave your bikini line and trim the rest. once you get into the routine it will be like second nature and you wont even think anything different.

trim it, you dont have to wax, but dont let a jungle down their.

To be completely honest, the less hair the better, but i wouldn't mind if it was trimmed and neat :)

It's normal not to shave. But if you're going to shave be very very careful. Getting cut on the pubic area is a bitch; it hurts and bleeds like hell. Go with the grain and use a creamy soap or rich shaving cream. If you're uncomfortable shaving it all off ( it looks weird) then go for a strip, or like the above poster, just trim the sides.

I've noticed when I don't shave for a while it does get a foul odor. Especially during my period. It's not pleasant. :/
