I don't quite understand the desire to marry, if nobody knows you are married. Wouldn't that kind of be like lying and add pressure to the relationship?

Tell your folks. Tell them in a soft way though, see how they react. Then when and if they are ok with that, you could progress to telling them about your woman. Or not. Good luck, and congrats.

Unfortunately not everyone is at ease with the gay scene, especially if you have children. You should accept your children for whoever they are.

Of course it's normal; our society is still largely against gay rights. If I were being discriminated against, I, too, would feel the need to operate in secret.
