Is it normal for friends to kiss on the lips?

So last night I had a friend over. We had only hung out once before this and I really didn't and don't know him they well. When I went to talk him out I gave him a hug bye. After out faces ended up close. You know how you end up after a hug. And slowly he leaned in and kissed me. On the lips. Ok I leaned in a bit too, but that's not the point. After I left I texted him and asked if he liked me or if it was just a in the moment thing. He said it was in the moment. He also said that where he comes from (Canada) that kissing your friends is normal. Is that true? I'm so confused!

    I'm from Canada. America is the same as Canada except the accents and healthcare. Nobody kisses eachother unless there also banging eachother

    I think it's normal for adult (meaning 27+) friends to kiss on the lips. But these types of kisses aren't always accompanied with hugs.

    But the way you describe it, it sounds like it was an "in the moment" kiss and he doesn't really do that with all his friends and was only trying to save himself from embarrassment.

    Yea... Im a Canadian and i don't go around kissing my friends, so no, it's not a normal thing, unless ghats just how he's been raised

    I'm from Canada too. And I KNOW we don't kiss each other on the lips as a greeting or goodbye--unless you're a relative or good friends with that person.

    I'm from Canada, and Canada is a big country. Some Canadians here don't kiss on the lips, but I certainly do (it's very common at weddings and Christmas parties). It's a great way to say hello, and it's an even better good-bye. If it was a quick peck I wouldn't read into it. If the kiss lingers for too long then I'd be curious about whether or not it's social or sexual

    Moral of the story my first love lasted 5 sec cause I didn't ask her sooner so be happy and sees that opertunity all though you think you have it good your the luckiest girl in the world

    HE LOVES you trust me I don't hug my bff which is ironically a girl well I hug her but we never kissed uh we have it's a in the moment thing but she was moving a long way away so we hugged and the I kissed her on the lips and said I wish we knew each other more then they left

      Be happy with what you have I had a gf for 5 sec and I got a hug and kiss holy crap I did in 5 sec what most people do in moths but just be happy
