Is it normal for friends to choose sides

Basically, I was hanging out with a group of five that I would see all the time and we'd go out. But as of late I stopped being friends with two of them after some drama. I talked to both of them and the conversation didn't go any where , so We parted ways. But now they're leaving me drunken voicemails trying to piss me off and generally trying to get a reaction out of me.

My question is about the other three friends who I'm still cool with, is it normal to ask your friends to take sides in this case? They agree with me that I trying to handle things cool and I'm not in the wrong so i don't get it?

I think it is normal for you to want them to pick your side. They should if they r your real friends.

  • In life, yes, it's normal to have friends pick sides. But you want your friends to take a stand against the other two.

    Why not drop it?

Is your life so petty that these two losers are capable of occupying your attention? Does a shooting star mind the gas clouds or ugly asteroids? Does he alter his path for their sake?

Change your number and ignore the ones you have issues with. Don't tattle on those 2 friends to the 3 remaining - they will stuff themselves up eventually through their own actions moreso than anything you could do or say to them.

  • Yes, it is normal for people to involve themselves in matter that they need not, but it is better not to.
