Is it normal for four year olds to become extremely quiet

My friends daughter is four years old. She used to talk a lot but these days she's very quiet and she wonders if it's normal. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened. She just stopped talking to people.

This could be the sign of sexual abuse or mutism. If its mutism you should take her to a neurologist. If its the aforementioned, take her to a child therapist who specialises in sexual abuse patients.

I think there may be something going on with her. Extreme changes in behavior can be a warning sign. Like Barbie said, look harder.

Does not sound normal ! I am 55 and have 24 neices and nephews! Two grown daughters and three grandchildren , so I've been around kids and it just does not seem normal and it's best to make sure all is ok ... Just in case !! Also I have a 4 yr old grand daughter and I would be concerned at least
