Is it normal for family to assist in losing virginities?

Ok so when I was 13 my cousins present to me on my birthday was to help me loose my virginity. When my brother turned 13(I was 15) I asked my gf to take his virginity and she did. Then when my sister turned 13 a year later I arranged it for her to loose her virginity to a friend of mine. When I tell people about this some thinks it's great others it's bizarre. Is it normal and has this happened to you or did you do this for a sibling?

I'm male and yes this happened to me 1
I'm female and this happened to me 0
Im male and wish this happened to me 8
Im female and wish this happened to me 0
Im male and your nuts 11
I'm female and your nuts 18
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

WTF? I was still climbing trees and chasing the ice cream truck at that age.

and WTF is wrong with your "girlfriend" and your family and friends for that matter? I don't believe your girlfriend did that unless she's a moron. I'm not sure I believe you.=P

This is a very difficult thing to comment on.
I can see two sides to this.
I can see that this type of practice has its benefits, but I feel unease about this also.
I feel that 13 years of age is too young for this. I feel that a 13 year old is not able to make a sound ethical decision on this.
Should this practice be adapted to a 15 year old instead, I would feel much more at ease with it, but only if the following are true:
That the partners are consenting.
It is not forced upon them.
That there is less than two years age separation between the partners.
The partners are of opposite sex.
That the familial relationship is at minimum second cousins. ( No immediate family members, first cousins, aunts or uncles, nieces or nephews )
That an examination for diseases (sexual) has been performed on
both partners.
That a 100% reliable form of contraception is being used.
I think that we should have a more balanced approach to our sexuality.

Why 13? Simple, one they are officially a teen. Two why not thirteen that's when I lost mine.

Losing your virginity should happen naturally, not, "Oh my God I'm 13 now I must go and fuck someone!" That ideology is crazy. Were you able to care for a baby at the age of 13? Without relying on your parents? Because that's what happens when a lot of people have sex, they make babies. Even with protection.

Why 13? Is that the magical number? You hit the age of thirteen then all of a sudden your hymen must be broken or your penis must be inserted in a vagina?

If this is real, it's very odd. You got one close family there. Can only imagine what family gatherings must be like...

I don't get why people Think this so strange. My siblings had a safe enjoyable experience, my brother got an experience all boys should have. He didn't just loose his virginity but also got to learn how girls work and how to please them. Neither had to stumble around in the dark. He didn't have to torture himself wanting to loose his virginity and never be sure about if this girl will let him or maybe he is wrong and will offend her
