Is it normal for family to ask so many questions?

My family usually keeps quiet but they asked me about my close friends. I've made plans several times with people and I've given up. I recently got back into contact with an old close friend but I think she got into drugs or something. It's not like I don't try but I've feeling tired in always being the one to ask people. The friendship that wasn't totally one sided moved away. I have no idea other then the fact my grandmother drinks why she has so many people come over. She invites he neighbors and they come over. There's nobody my age that lives in the area. Is it normal for your family to ask you so many questions when you'd think they'd know the answer. Its not like the majority of my family has any close friends who come over so what gives? Why was I singled out? I'm 25... who used to have a good relationship with most of her family.

    Asking questions isn't criticising you.
Your family want to see you happy and think perhaps a friend over might help. Maybe if you share a bit more with them, they won't have to ask?
They just want to know if you're OK and if not, maybe they coukd help in a small way.

You should not socialize with drug users. This is a dangerous path.

You don't have to invite friends over . You could meet them and go out? If you don't have friends then go to a group once a week like tennis lessons or yoga or theatre or bush walking or anything that sounds OK to try. You have to try it to see.

They're just trying to take interest in you. If you don't like it then steer the conversation elsewhere. Maybe you're boring so all they can do to is ask you about other people. Ask them questions or do something interesting you can talk about.
