Is it normal for family members to take care of you when you are sick?

This would be about a normal cold or flu or something similar. My family has never done this, but I see it all the time in movies and television.

We've always just got our own water, slept it off and made our own food if we wanted it, and we never get each-other wet towel's or something like that.

Some families are more touchy-feelly than others. Either is normal.

If the members in the family didn't grow up with helping others in their background, then it's very hard to teach them or even try to rationalize with what they seem to be normal.
They will probably never change. Just like a lot of habits that people have that others would never tolerate.
That's life in the real world.

My imitate family always takes care of eachother when one gets sick. Sometimes we'll even take the day off work if needed to help the one in need.
