Most pharmaceutical drugs that are prescribed to people do not really work at all. Sorry to say but its true.

For the depression I would say figure out what makes you so sad and deal with it. If you can not sleep I would say maybe try different sleeping positions or do something to tire yourself out first. They have home remedies like warm milk that put you to sleep. Pills are just a band aid solution and you are trying to avoid facing the reason you are depressed. You might have a high tolerance to drugs.

I was diagnosed with narcolepsy first, because of this I developed or potentially worsened, if it was already in existence, panic disorder because I was constantly worried about falling asleep. This lead to me not sleeping at all for days on end. The narcolepsy just completely ruined my mental health and now Im constantly tired and go through phases of awake and sleep with no control or anything. It used to be that I would just fall asleep at random times, but I could still sleep at night. Now I cant sleep when i want to go to sleep and my body's tired. its just really weird and hard to explain. either way all of this has cause severe depression to the point were I lie there in think if only I could just go to sleep I dont care. I just need this all to be over with... I wish I could just say IM DONE!

  • I've been on several meds and while some work, some do not. Most do not cure anything but just provide a relief of symptoms for the day. I take Provigil too and personally it works great for me, but it took me several prescriptions to get one that works for me. Narcolepsy and Insomnia sounds like an unusual mix. How does that work? Can you not sleep when you want yet fall asleep randomly? I still have symptoms with meds but the ones I'm on now also help signifantly. It took awhile to get there though.

I've been down this road and you won't like where it leads. Drugs, of any kind, never cure your problems. I once read the quote "Pharmaceutical companies don't make cures, they make addictions", and I can tell you from personal experience that that's all too true. Be strong and be supportive of yourself even if no one else is.

Getting the right combo of drugs to help can be hard and the more problems you have the harder it can be . But if it improves your quality of life at all it can make a big difference sometimes and after a while to try another combo once your feeling a little stronger and more centered and see if something will help more . I'm planning on trying a diff antidepressant this summer for depression and pain ( last time it took 3 diff meds in a row and 6 mo to find the one I'm on now that work ok and with out real bad side effects - it doesn't make things normal but it's livable most of the time )

^He's right. It's a global scam perpetrated by drug manufacturers and put into motion by corrupt medical staff who are on their payroll.
