Is it normal for dreams to signifantly impact real life?

I had a depressing dream last night and it just ruined my whole day. I felt depressed all day and laid in bed. I also sometime get mad at people for how they acted in my dreams or confuse things that I dreamed with real life. My dreams also make predictions and I try to recreate things in dreams in real life. A lot of my real life decisions were strongly influenced by dreams. I actually feel much more connected to dreams than I do with the waking state of consciousness.

Both me and my brother have been impacted by dreams, him more than me though. I tend to have extremely vivid dreams yet often they aren't lucid so I don't realise it's a dream untill i wake, that can be depressing for me as I tend to dream a lot about people I used to know and times I miss, so often I'll be with someone I knew or ocassionally who's died, sometimes I'll resolve situations or get chances to say goodbye's then I wake up and feel awful. Sometimes A dream about something i'm exited for can put me in a good mood though. My brother Stopped smoking because of a dream, he doesn't have vivid dreams often which made it more powerful. He had come in from a fag and started coughing, it got worse and he coughed up blood and couldn't breath, he said he ended up vomiting blood. That was 2 years ago and he hasn't smoked since

We treat dreams as if was just a dream. We wake up grateful....Um, let's briefly look at dreams: There is the " mind taking a dump" dream . The imbalances in our waking consciousness (unresolved fears, situations ) are offset by our dreams. A release of stress . There are many types of dreams: I'm just looking at the two polar opposites. The prophetic dream is not common , but more so than one might think. These usually occur during the more non-stressful times in life, especially when we are growing in our spirituality. Some say that they are in color ...I m not sure. Others say that they are comprehensive (no skipping around. ) sequential in other words.

A word of advice: a prophetic dream does not always apply to your waking life per se. When we are dreaming , our consciousness is not necessarily limited to time and space. For instance if you have a prophetic dream of a plane crash , it may be somewhere on the other side of the planet...

Dreams can be true sometimes, but it's not advisable to live your life based on your dreams. That's a recipe for disaster and depression.

I believe dreams reveal our feelings made into stories. So a question would be... how did the dream make us feel?

Sometimes I have problems to see difference between my memories and dreams. It does make my life harder.

Maybe it's normal for dreams to affect a person like that. I don't have dreams that I remember that often anymore. I think it may be because I average much less sleep than I used to. Anyway, maybe you should get outside more. Try not to stay in bed all day if you can. It's really not good for you, the body needs sunshine! Vitamin D is a good supplement to take if you know you don't get enough too.

Well dreams can sway your mind and your mind manifests in your life, they dont directly impact me because my dreams are full of shit but it seems normal.
