Is it normal for cold to make joints hurt?

Most of my joints hurt anyway on a regular basis (was told it was related to my hypermobility), but whenever it's cold outside they hurt way worse and also feel a bit stiffer.
The effect is noticeable within seconds of stepping outside.

normal, yes, but usually for older people. Now, most people do feel a slight stiffness in the joints during the winter, even i do (and im 21) but its usually not enough to be painful.

joint pain isnt nearly as common in young adults, but it can happen, especially if you work at a job that requires a lot of heavy lifting (landscaping/ some factory jobs/etc.) and/or have had a history of joint problems in your family.

(a friend of mine is like this, and he is also 24. he even joked and called me old when i turned 21)

Did any of your family members have similar problems when they were your age?

Try fish oil pills. They help lubricate the joints.

Eliminate wheat from your diet!!! This includes processed foods. It will help, guaranreed. Try reading "wheat belly". Proof from many about how health is significantly improved by getting rid of wheat. Why u ask? The wheat we know today is not natural. Its a mutated form of the original plant. Its just plain bad!!!

Have you seen an orthopedist? Maybe there are strengthening exercises that will help support your joints.

For aches and pains, take magnesium supplements in the morning (around 400 or 500 mg) and calcium (around 600 mg) with vitamin D 2000 IU at night. These may help your pain.

    • No, but I am in physical therapy.
I've only had a few sessions so far, but it definitely seems to be helping a bit (with joint stability at least).

  • Not really.
My 22-year old sister has joint pain, but I don't think she has issues with lax, unstable joints that dislocate easily like mine.
