Every time there is a black male around I can smell them. They can walk into a room and I smell them within minutes sight unseen. A couple friends of mine, one Hispanic and one Asian, notice the same thing. It's an odd, funky BO smell and I don't know if it's due to poor hygiene or some chemicals they use, but it's funky.

Not all black men smell like what she is describing. I guarantee you this. I am a black male and do not smell as she is saying. I actually get a lot of compliments on my smell by girls, white girls at that. Even my current girlfriend is white, German and is obsessed with my smell. These are not hood rat white girls that give me compliments. I have had Italian and just white American girlfriends who always want to sleep in my shirts. The OP must live in some poor area where no one has running water and deodorant.
The only thing I can think of is black men with certain hairstyles use some kind of oil in their hair, and I know there are lots of specialized ethnic products because their hair is evolutionarily a bit different from ours.
Could you just be smelling the hair products?

Really wow people you are so stereotypical. It's not all black people its some. It has nothing to do with race because white people can stink too. No need to be racist.
I have felt that odor that you talk about. Some black people tend to have and odor if they don't use deodorant or cologne. Hindus definitely have a worst odor and it is due to their high amounts of curry in their dishes, I suppose. The black people odor can only be felt by non-black people, and of course not everybody is able to smell it. But, if you pay close attention and close enough to a black person, you will feel the smell.
My co-worker is Mexican n she dated a black guy & said they have a spicy odor to them :/ I've never smelled a black guy but who knows??
I have noticed it too, they either stink or your drowned in perfume if it's a black chick. It's gross.... That and their attitudes don't help.

Most black guys I meet either smell like weed, coconut butter or Lynx.
