Is it normal for best friends to be really mean to eachother?

My best friends and I have been really mean to eachother over the years but it was never anything that we were actually mad about. I got in a fight with one of my friends with hair pulling and all but we just laughed it off when we pulled eachother to the ground. My friends and I also make fun of eachother and tease eachother but we never take it to heart. Like my friend would sometimes flick me in the throat so I would punch him and he would call me a s-l-u-t so I would tell him to shut his w-h-o-r-e mouth and grow a pair. But we can never keep a straight face when talking to eachother like that because it's all in fun. So are you and your friends mean to eachother like this?
