Is it normal for an infant to be walking at the beach half naked?

My family and I were at the beach and there was this family with a small child, more than likely at or about a year old but no older. This child was wearing a t-shirt and a hat with nothing from the waist down. The little girl was naked from the waist down. Is this normal? This was in Georgia, USA btw. I would never let my child regardless of age be naked out in public. I understand bath time and such but out on a public beach with hundreds of people around. Then later the baby was asleep on her daddy's chest, still with baby butt open to the air... You never know what pediophyles<-- sorry for spelling, are around.

    Kinda weird the baby wasn't at least wearing a diaper. Don't want the little thing peeing and pooping all over the place.

    Yes, that's completely normal. Sadly, society has begun to convince young people that pedophiles and danger lurk around every corner. A little naked baby butt at the beach never hurt anyone and is far preferable to soaked, disgusting diaper. Let the family enjoy some fun, let yourself let go of your modernized fears.

    don't see why this is an issue unless you getting off by watching the baby i would ignore it or go to an opposite side of the beach

    Baby's don't even know what's down there I agree the baby should have a diaper I used to only walk around in a diaper when I was little

    I see naked babies/children on the beach all the time, I think the parents should put something on them but its nothing new

    A naked baby concern?
    I wouldn't be too worried about this.
    1. Its good that you can 'air' off babies
    2. You know nudist beaches exist where ALL ages go to, no one is checking out the naked baby, I think that may be too concerned.

      1. This was not a nude beach, this was a public beach.
      2. Airing out a baby can be done in the privacy of its home.
      3. If there is something that needs to be aired out, you probably wouldn't want sand or salt water in there. Never once did we "air out" my now 5 year old.
      4. People are more than welcome to be nude on a nude beach but not a public beach.

        ok then. What about this.
        1. Babies wear nappies that can't really go in beaches (actually that would be worse if they did)
        2. Where exactly are the baby bathing suits? Or more importantly would you even buy bathers for a 1 yr old? (not 5yo! And I only mention this age because you said Not nudist beach)
        3. Seriously pedophile on a 1yr old baby? I mean TOO cautious in my view. Pretty sure I've seen nude babies in many women's magazines or TV commercials, no issue.
        4. 'Airing out' the baby IS good, I think at a public beach is reasonable.

        Its a little gray, but I personally wouldn't care about a BABY/toddler being nude at the beach. Maybe you should have run a poll, Yes or No. Mind you it will probably be 50/50.
        I STILL say you are being overly cautious. Its not THAT bad of a world, I hope.

    A lot of people do that....infants are generally not seen as sexual persons even by pedophiles who prefer older children.
