Is it normal for an ex to contact you after a year of no contact?

My ex girlfriend dumped me last March and it wasn't until that August when I called her up and told her I wasn't interested in being just friends and so I'm moving on. 11 months later I get a text from a number (I deleted her contact info) saying Hi (my name), how is your summer going? The 2 minutes later she texts How was your first year of school?. A day later I replied saying Hi who is this? Now I realize it is her after finding her number written down. However she hasn't responded from my text and it's been a day. I made it crystal clear I wasn't interested in being friends. Why did she contact me and why hasn't she responded to my text? Also, what should I do now?

    I still see ex when I have go to basement. The stink is get bad and I no know what do.

    She wants you back, she realized she made a mistake. This happens a looooooot. You can do whatever you feel appropriate. If you want to try again, go for it but if you're just friends and you're uncomfortable with it, let her know.

      I don't know what she wants because I texted her again today (like 8 hours ago) bascially saying "This is (her name) right? This number seeems familiar. I got a new phone. I'm doing good. How have you been?"
      No response. She may just be messing with me. I don't know.
