I am a Nigerian teen who was born with green eyes. No one in my family is mixed as both of my parents were born and raised in Nigeria. I have lightskin like my mother but no one in my family has colored eyes. Am I a freak? I'm a guy.
Not normal, but not unheard of. Green eyes of various hues actually appear in all races, although they are most common in people of Middle-Eastern or Mediterranean descent. They are considerably rare, and because eye color is the result of many genes rather than just one, it's possible for one to have green eyes even if their parents don't. Upon close inspection, most "green-eyed" people don't really have green eyes per-se, but rather a kaleidoscope of colors, from brown to grey and in between, which produces a sort of illusion of having green eyes.
There are quite a few black West Indians with green eyes.
It means, without a doubt, that you have a biracial background.
