Is it normal for an 18 year old straight guy to love my little pony?

A couple days ago noticed that a whole lot of people on the internet were obsessed with the TV show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and for god knows what reason I decided to watch the first episode, probably as fuel to attack the people who watched the show. Well as it turns out, I am inexplicably obsessed with a television show about ponies that was made for 5 year old girls, and regardless of how stupid I tell myself the show is I can't stop watching it. Is this normal, or am I just another weirdo who's a full grown man who can't help but be obsessed with cute ponies?

    You appreciate it for what it is. It's a quality a show. You may not be the demographic but you can admit that it's done well. I guess the answer you want is "This doesn't mean you like girly things" so you can calm down.

    Also you might have a soft spot for cartoons. Watch more. Adventures of Gumball hello?

    What's interesting is when I was in the Navy.... On my first ship we had 3 TVs on the mess decks.

    A woman came in and saw all the guys there and said, "Let me guess all the TVs are on sports right now?"

    Nope. All of the TVs were turned to cartoons. Guys like cartoons. And the Price is Right.

    FiM is MLP in name only. Everything about the show puts it more in the league with some of the best western animation ever. It's humor is actually a lot more mature then a young kid's show has any right to be. Don't let the cute ponies fool you, this is one of the best animated series ever.

    it's only normal if you like Lauren Faust's version. & who can blame you for that? i'm a 20 year old girl and i think the show is amazing. i've even gotten a few guys into it.

    O hell yeah!

    MLP is making a MAJOR comeback, especially since people are into modifying them into interesting toys.

    The most interesting one was the "Chris from Magpul" Pony mod.

    They took a bearded man who sells military tactical gear and turned him into a pony

    Franchises are hard to ignore. And even though I don't quite understand why a lot of older guys love My Little Pony (my cousin being one of them), apparently this is a normal occurrence. You're not insane. Congrats.

    its an excellent show, has a good story, the characters are well developed, (Especially twilight sparkle, rainbow dash, and pinkie pie) and the voice acting is great.
    its also more gender-neutral than the past mlp shows.
    Lauren faust wanted a show that both kids and parents would enjoy, and she pulled that off (and then some!)

    It's not normal but not wrong either. Maybe you'd love having your own little girl and didn't realize it. Try Strawberry Shortcake too. I <3 both!

    Lots of guys used to consider watching Xena a guilty pleasure so I suppose this one's yours (great choice too) and you don't have to tell your friends you even know about it.
