Is it normal for an 18 year old like me to be single?

The reason I'm asking this is because it bothers me that my friends (who are younger than me)are getting boyfriends and girlfriends. I did like this one guy, but he kept rescheduling on me every time I wanted to hang out with him (for stupid excuses like if it's "too cold", "too hot" or that he doesn't feel like it). I am 5'9 inches and am overweight (if that is not too much information for you)I am a little on the shy side to. I'm just so curious about why I don't have a boyfriend yet.

    Listen girl I'm right there with you. I'm turning 18 in a few months and I haven't had an official boyfriend yet ,which really sucks cause all my friends have been in a long term relationship since gr.9. So you know third wheel life for me!! Anyways just hang in there like me and I'm sure we'll find our prince charmings when we move on from high school. :)

    And college is always everyone's peak moment. I'd go to a university. So many guys to chose from. trust me<3

    It's not that uncommon to not have a bf/gf in high school. Most relationships that start really young don't last, so you're okay.

    Just because other people are doesn't mean you should. Date someone because you like them, not because you don't want to feel left out.

    Those younger kids are most likely going though some bull crap hormone-infused super drama anyway, because they're not ready.
