    I am not this hair
    I am not this skin
    I am not your expectations

    I am not this hair
    I am not this skin
    I am the soul within

    That's what matters

I agree with thegypsysailor. I know myselfand all my friends prefer women with longer hair.

Buzz cuts are good for the butch type. Don't worry about normal women laughing at you looking like a man

Yep, get it cut. Think of your buzz cut as a social experiment. If you don't like men, I predict your new appearance will help repel them.

But hey, it's a testable hypothesis.

Well its done, mom gave both my brother and I buzz cuts and I have to say I love it. It feels so cool and find myself rubbing my head a lot now. I wish I did this awhile back. I say if any women is thinking about doing it, you should try it, its only hair and will grow back.

Well I have made my mind up and later this morning my mom is going to give me a buzz cut. I like wistful have think hair and I even had a perm which really dried my hair out badly. I really am looking forward to getting mess off my head and it is going up to 95 again here today, very hot and humid. Many women have told me it is such a great feeling and I will be glad I have done it.

Heres another woman who says go ahead! I think if you want to get a buzz cut, do it. I have long thick hair and I cant tell you how many times I wish I could shave my head...Ive seen a lot of women with very short or shaved heads and I think it can look fine.
Just DONT do that awful half-shaved head thing Miley Cyrus/Rihanna have done, that looks truly awful on anyone.

Well thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts. I had two ladies email me and feel I should get it buzzed if I want to. One women said she went to the barbers with her husband and they both got buzzed and went home and was the best sex they have had in a long time. The other lady was like me and said she was glad she did was much cooler and even found some men thought it was a turn on. I have not done it yet but I am thinking today I may just go ahead and have it done.

Go for it only if you are able to take criticisms well from people.

If you're not too interested in being attractive to most men, then go for it. Last time there was a poll on here, the guys overwhelmingly preferred women with longer hair cuts than short. Just saying......

Women generally don't cut their hair for men. If a guy doesn't want to be with you because of your haircut, you probably don't want to be involved with him anyway.

I disagree with you 100% on this one. I believe most of what women do regarding their looks is for men. I don't know many women who enjoy high heels, nylons, push up bras, make up or the myriad of other things straight women do to attract men. They certainly don't go to an overpriced hairdresser and spend a goodly sum of money on a new do, just because they have a great deal of expendable income. Certainly some have their hair cut short for a profession, like firefighting, or because they live where it's very hot, but the majority of straight women definitely dress and groom to attract men.

Asexual and aromantic people do that too, though.

From what Ive noticed women keep up their appearances not only for attracting men, but also as a way of not getting critized by other women. Women are actually the harshest critics of other women. One thing that I have to agree with thegypsysailor about is that sexual attraction is a big thing in a relationship. If a woman cuts off her hair then she becomes less sexually attractive to a lot of men. You cant say that if a guy wont accept you with a shaved head that you shouldnt be with him anyways. Its not a bad thing. A lot of women refuse to date bald men, does that make them unworthy?

I agree with you. But maybe the op doesn't care about how it looks at all. Some people truly don't care much about appearances and if that's the case, I think she should do what makes her happy.
Im kind of envious because Id LOVE to shave my head but I don't have the guts to do it. Plus my hair is too wavy and it would look like crap after it started growing out. Im pretty sure my husband wouldn't like me bald but he DID like Sinead O'Connor...
