Is it normal for a woman to have mental disorders found in men?

Is it normal for a woman to have mental/psychological disorders that usually males have ? like paranoia ,Autism , schizophrenia ,psycopath, these illnesses are usually found in men and rarely in a woman , but my female friend whose 42 has all of the above illnesses .

    Um... autism is pretty much equally common in men and women. The others are fairly common in women also.

    No mental illness is normal according to the conceptions of psychology. No person is without a degree of mental oddity, according to common logic.

    I highly doubt your friend has gotten those diagnoses continuously from a mental health "professional" (if at all). It is much likelier that she's using serious mental illnesses as a shield for a series of inner conflicts that she's not ready to resolve.

    My diagnosis? Smack your friend in the face, have a big cry session with her over wine, hug a bunch, and let her vent.

    I honestly doubt if I would be friends with a known psychopath. Be very careful!!

    Just because they are more common in men doesn't mean that women can't develop them as well. Also, it's thought that one of the reasons why fewer women are diagnosed with autistic spectrum disorders than men is because the symptoms manifest themselves differently.
