Is it normal for a ten year old to be reading nietzsche?

My son turned ten recently and ever since, he's been acting really strange. My wife was cleaning his room a few days ago and found a copy of The Will to Power by Nietzsche. Now can anyone tell me what a ten year old could possibly be doing with a copy of The Will to Power? I'm an avid hunter and he wanted to know if, next time I kill a deer, if he could have the blood and bones. What's he going to do, summon a demon or something? My wife and I are starting to get scared of him.

I think you should read Nietzsche yourself so you understand what he is reading.

  • When I was that age I drew violent pictures of people getting killed. I always thought it was normal but people told me it's not. I wouldn't worry about book topics. Philosophy is interesting. People get too worried about what kids do these days. There's nothing to worry about unless they start being physically violent toward people and animals. Imagination is important to think openly.

I don't see what Nietzsche has to do with summoning demons.

I dunno maybe you can get him to read Franz Kafka instead.

He's just curious about what would happen. When I was his age, I practiced psychic stuff, like telekinesis. Unfortunately, it didn't work. He's probably doing something like I did.

I was also very violent as a kid. In kindergarten, I thought about killing my teacher for no reason.

Sure, why not? I've read a lot of classics when I was young...
