Is it normal for a straight guy to like soft rock?

I don't know if it's because I grew up with my parents listening to it. I don't know if it's because I never really went through a "rebel" phase.... but Im a straight guy who not only likes but prefers 80s and 90s soft rock. I detest rap and any rock "harder" then Bon Jovi or Journey. When I tell people my favorite artists include Jefferson Starship, Foreigner, and Wilson Phillips they look at me like I have 2 heads. This music is "supposed" to be crap but I can't listen to anything else.

    Music taste doesn't have anything to do with sexuality. I like a few songs by Elton John, does that mean I'm homo? No, it doesn't.

    Yes. You like what you like. Soft rock isn't particularly obscure or strange. It's perfectly normal.

    What the heck! Of course that is normal... you just have good taste and apparently they don't.

    I like guys that like classic rock or 80's or 90's rock.

    Everybody has their own taste of music though.

    Why would sexuality have anything to do with your music tastes?

    It's 100% normal and don't stop rocking because of what other people say. Just be yourself.

    well my mom has gotten my brother to like all the shitty stuff like mumford and sons but my dad got me into punk. parents can control your music taste.

    Music is whatever speaks to your soul. I'm a metal head but sometimes I feel like listening to R&B, Soul, or even...ABBA.

    Of course it's normal. I'm a big fan of yacht rock myself, it's not my favorite genre but definitely in the top five.
