Is it normal for a song to make my eyes tear up?

There is this song that whenever I listen to it, makes my eyes tear up and all watery when I hear the lyrics, like I'm about to cry, plus I also get intense cold goosebumps and butterflies. What's weird is that it's not a sad song, and I don't find it to be sad. My body just reacts to the song like that for some reason. My reaction gets most intense when he sings the chorus. I'm puzzled by this.
(The song is Force of Nature by Pearl Jam.)

Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros always makes me cry, the Beatles songs usually brings a tear to my eye aswell. For me it's always memories I associate with the song

I've cried to myself listening to certain songs, or extremely nostalgic songs.

That happens to me all the time when I listen to older songs, new songs don't make me feel anything, but even older commercial jingles sometimes make me tear up.

  • For me it's pretty much anything by Julee Cruise. And Blasphemous Rumours by Depeche Mode is somewhere between this and scaring the hell out of me.

I got that feeling frequently when I listened to mostly 80's metal guitar solos. My favorite was always Iron Maiden. So emotional, so empowering..

Also, the violin in "Never Meant to Belong" from Bleach.
    Masculine tears.

There are some I find really sad... "Terrible Things" by Mayday Parade, and "Winter" by Bayside. And there's probably more.

I'm Cold, by Whale. It's about a girl losing consciousness and eventually dying after a car crash. She wonders typical things like if her hair is messed up and that she feels like some apple pie, sees the ambulance men try to save her, and a man crying, which segues into her raising up through the air, and seeing her mother smiling. There's a calm matter-of-factness which kills me, like when she wonders if someone will wear a suit and tie, and you realise she means at her funeral.
