Is it normal for a personality on is it normal to change?

I just looked back at the very first answer I gave on the site and noticed my first interactions with the site are no different from my interactions now.

Looking at your own first answer, does it seem like you've changed? If so, how and why do you think is it normal has changed you?

Feel free to post the URL of the first story you commented on. I'll happily post mine if this question is approved.

    My first comment:

"spray the inside of ur ass with cologne. it works for ur mothher"

I used to be such a nice guy. What happened?

I've changed a lot. I look at some early comments I've seen as myself, and I would never make them now. I've changed in that I articulate myself better, am more easily understood, and have learned that sometimes consciously not commenting can say a lot more than leaving a comment that expresses exactly how you feel.

But most importantly, I've just grown up quite a bit generally regardless of IIN and I see things in different ways to how I did 11 months ago, both from my wider range of experiences and from having slightly more emotional maturity. It's all an occupational hazard of being a teenager.

Sometimes it's weird reading your comments. You are so similar to how I am now, and even more similar to how I was when I was your age that it borders on spooky. If anything, you're a bit ahead of where I was at the same age. You're more like twenty year old me was.

If I ever do anything worthy and someone makes a film out of my life, I think I'd want you to play me. You'd have to disguise your accent, though. :P

      • Funny you mention that. There was a time when a few members suspected dom180 might have been your alterego.

I can only say that I'm flattered by the comparison :)

Pleasantly surprised by my very first comment here:

I think it says a fair bit about how much I've changed since then that it's been months since I've done that.

Yeah I used to come on when I was drunk so I could be quite offensive.

I haven't been using IIN for very long, and sometimes I may get conflicted opinions toward a certain thing. But I honestly doubt I've changed, even in the slightest. I think I feel a little better about myself, seeing as I'm not so different from everyone else. I used to think I was a freak of nature. As for my opinion, and the way I convey my thoughts, hasn't changed at all.

Ya I always thought I was strange as shit, until I started coming on IIN. Makes you realize that there are a lot of people like you, and they are as close lipped about it as you are sometimes!

I've think I've changed. When I first came on here I had slightly different views, but since being on here for awhile I now have a different more open view on things.

I was different at the beginning too but I put it down to the fact I had just started college then and still had sort of the hopeless teenager attitude but also I've learned a lot from this site, I get kind of embarrassed sometimes when I stumble upon an older story at how I answered.

  • Very. I was young, dumb, and trying to be seen as the friendly advice giving person, when I may of been dumb and young, I wasn't a friendly person. Now, I am not nearly as dumb as I was back then, it's been about four years, and I am comfortable being who I am on here; the bringing of cold truth.

I think I have the exact same opinions that I did when I came on here. The way that I have changed is that I have realized that that there are a lot of people like me out there, and i'm def not the odd duck out! I may be a little more bold with my comments now but this is only because I have been here long enough to have become familiar with some of the users.

  • Mine are quite different from the "me" I was in a former account...at least in some ways. It's not that my personality has changed as much as that with time comes comfort, and more of the real "me" comes through.

    My first outing as dappled:

    <a href="http://isitnormal.com/story/is-it-normal-to-be-a-26-year-old-virgin-male-59337/#comment-499286" rel="nofollow">http://isitnormal.com/story/is-it-normal-to-be-...</a>

The same day I made a comment to a woman worrying about her weight, one about pubic hair, and my first funny one to someone who was anxious at being in a toilet cubicle next to another occupied toilet cubicle. I personally don't like it either and that wasn't helped by a man in the next cubicle suddenly screaming "Oh God. Make it end". I still wonder if he was talking about a bad situation, his life, or the act of defecation.

But either way, I don't think I've changed in the slightest. Although I do say "Aww" more than I used to.

I been here for over four years and I think I have been the same old idiot who tries his best to give advice and opinions on IIN.
