    Depends what you mean by child. If you were 5 and she watched you change and insist you wear proper sleeping attire, then yes normal.

    If by child you mean 16. No, fucked up.

      above the age of 10 and not just sleeping attire, just plain on no pants. one time i woke up with my pants off.

          It was scary when I couldn't find my pants, and I went to go ask my mom where they were, and she said "I wanted to wash them" but they weren't dirty? like, I was really confused.

    the only explanation I ever got from her was "no pants so you can be comfortable" or "you're my daughter, I can watch you change why are you shy"

    Sorry, but I think your mother has problems.

    From what you say, it sounds like your mother never crossed the boundary of doing something physical with you, but it's pretty obvious she at least had sexual thoughts about you.

    The vast majority of sexual abusers are male, but there are female sexual abusers, and some mothers sexually abuse their children. It's unclear what sort of numbers are involved, partly because people find it very uncomfortable to even think of a mother doing this. Some people working in the field think we're currently at the point in our recognition of female sexual abusers that we were forty years ago with male paedophiles: back then, people thought it was much rarer than we now know it to be.

    Whether what your mother did was actually child sexual abuse is a matter of opinion I suppose, but I'm sure that if your father had done this, most people wouldn't hesitate to call it that.
