Is it normal for a medication to cause a late period?

I want to start off by saying that my period is never late. Not once. It's usually a little early or exactly on time. Recently, I started taking a new medication prescribed by my doctor for my anxiety issues. I have only been taking this for a couple of weeks, but my period is late. Not by a lot, but just by a couple of days. There's no way I'm pregnant because I'm a virgin. So, can a medication cause a late period? Thank you in advance.

My medicine did the same to me. I talked to my doctor and stated that I couldn't be pregnant and she tried changing the doses. Sometimes this work sometimes it doesn't. I had to be put on birth control to regulate my period. You could ask your doctor about this and other options.
