Is it normal for a man to wear makeup while in public

Enjoy wearing makeup, to cover over my imperfections on my face. Has been a trying time to learn how to apply correctly but finally found a girl to help. Am I normal?

In a culture where appearance and first impressions are far more important than character, it's perfectly natural to want to look your best.

From ancient times up to the 18th century, it wasn't unusual for men - particularly members of the elite classes - to wear cosmetics, and of course male actors have always used makeup. So men in western societies over recent centuries not using cosmetics was nothing more than the current fashion, and no more absurd or "normal" than codpieces, powdered wigs or platform boots.

Why not? If women get to look their best in public why can't men do it? I find this to be sexist as makeup was worn by both sexes when it was introduced.

    I think it's mandatory in Soi 6/1!

Its becoming more common. Cover up is fine. Yesterday i saw a big burly black guy looked like a linebacker..wearing sparkly lavender eyeshadow, thinned eyebrows and fake lashes. Very glittery!
Ps i dont like it personally but hey its not my choice.

Have you tried watching make up YouTubers? As the ellnell said it’s becoming more accepted.

No, it's getting more and more accepted around the new generation as they're more open minded.

Honestly, I have no problem with dudes wearing makeup as long as they just behave well and don't brag about it too much.

I'm not really a fan of James Charles style makeup, but well, to each to their own of course. And you covering your imperfections is just okay. I mean, even male models in advertisements have their skin imperfections covered with makeup.

If you are young I would say that it is pretty well accepted now, so normal. If you are older it is not really normal, unless you are gay or enjoy "dressing as a woman". That doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.

Make up is a god send for imperfections on the face. I would never tell someone they shouldn't use it if it makes them feel good, regardless of their gender. What I would say is that if you are using it, make sure you are using it skillfully. Lots of research, lots of practice. Getting make up right is harder than it looks.

I dont think there's anything wrong with a man using makeup if it's not obvious. Like my eyebrows are very light and uneven so I could draw them on to make them look better if I was going on a date or trying to get laid. It's different if you have a full face of makeup like a drag queen just to draw attention, that's kinda gay.

Not it’s not gay. It’s drag. We are all born naked. The rest is drag.

Yea mentioning the trans part was unnecessary. You simply could of said as long as hes not all flamboyant about it cause who wants to with a flamer. But no you gotta target people with idiocies.

Yes flamers suck they are the type of gays that gays call fags.

No, flamboyant men can be a bit annoying but they have every right to express themselves however they want. Toxic masculine stereotypes are what really suck. Let men be men however they feel like it. It hurts nobody.

People who are bothered by flamboyant men need to ask themselves why. I think you’ll find it’s because you’ve been conditioned by your parents and culture to believe men should only behave certain ways and so when you see someone who doesn’t fit your belief system you feel uncomfortable, threatened or affronted. Many gay people don’t hold these same narrow beliefs about gender. They don’t have the same fears around their masculinity that many heterosexual men do. They are free to express themselves however they want. It’s not their problem it’s yours. In the end we are all born naked and the rest is drag anyway.

You do realize I'm trans right? Flamers are just obnoxious and painful to be around like drag queens. It's like getting stabbed with needle being around them. You can think its conditioning or any other wrong opinion you want to think at the end of the day the act like children and get categorized that way in my mind and I cant bloody stand children

Hi mammal, wasn’t necessarily talking about you but just people in general. Lgbt can be just as conditioned and narrow in many ways. Look at the whole ‘Masc’ thing. Never before in the history of gay life has there been so much femme phobia and internalised homophobia. I totally get what you’re saying. I also find them annoying to be around however lately I have chosen to try be more open about it. I’d rather live in a world that allows the freedom of men to express themselves however they want than one that keeps them in neat little boxes. Extremes of any kind can be grating. I also find very macho men completely annoying. Emotionally stunted brain dead idiots. Both ends of the spectrum are as bad as each other.

Okay. Fine. I guess I have to edit my whatever phrases I put since people misunderstand me again and don't let me express my opinions how I want.
