I'm straight, My nails and toe nails look horrible. I mean, they're not the worst but it looks bad. And I want them to look better.
I wish it was more socially acceptable for men to be able to do things like this and not be assumed to be gay. I'm sure there would be plenty of men out there who would want to do things like this that are typically seen as being "girly" but are held back because others would think negatively of them. But to answer your question, it may not be really 'normal' to go ahead and do it but there is certainly nothing wrong with wanting to do it. I say, if you want to do it, do it!
Looking after one's self and good personal hygiene doesn't say anything about a person's orientation. It just says a lot about said person's hygiene and personal grooming habits. I, for one, wish more straight men would not be afraid of going that extra mile when it comes to their looks and grooming.
Things like nail care, skin care, hair care and overall looks should be important to any man (not just gay or bisexual men).
I started giving myself a weekly manicure and cutting my toenails every week, and it raised my self esteem. Also feels better. I work on the computer all day, and it's easier to type. I also walk to the train station, and it's more comfortable. Funny that you had to mention that you're straight.
Go for it and get them done. Nothing like a pair of hands looking good aswell as feet.
i have been getting pedicures for 15 years now and i love it ...especially if its done by a pretty little asian girl....i don't get manicures, but i love my pedicures....i even get them frenched every nnow and then...they look clean and healthy...

Seriously, having well-groomed hands and feet is a good thing -- for straight men, gay men, bi men, men of all kinds. Women too. Hands that look like tree bark aren't a good look unless you're an Ent.
If you have a girlfriend and don't want to go to a salon, get her to do it for you. I love the hell out of doing that for my husband. It's fun, and he doesn't have to confront walking into a nail salon.
