Is it normal for a guy to stroke another guy's hair?

I'm a guy. Was out with friends tonight at a restaurant. Outside, while contemplating aloud whether to get a cab, my friend Ben tells me I'm getting a bit spoilt, and strokes my hair/ear (ok, 1 downward stroke).

I'm used to pats on my shoulder but this is probably the first time a guy friend has stroked by hair/ear.

Am I reading too much into this?

He's married, with a kid.

    I agree, he's probably used to doing the same thing to his kid. I sometimes touch my friend's heads by way of affection, like playfully slap them, I am a girl though, but still you're reading too much into this.

    Many gay persons have married the opposite sex and have children. He may have been testing your reaction to a seemingly innocent gesture. Don't jump to conclusions, but keep your distance. Also, observe his actions to other mutual friends.
